Change controller on MSA 1500CS
I have a storage MSa 1500CS with a single controller. There are one MSA20 and one MSA30 attached.
I must change the controller for a problem on display.
There is a procedure for backup the configuration and restore on new controller changed so as not to damage the partitions?
Can you give me some instructions?
Thanks.

Re: Change controller on MSA 1500CS
I have read that can i change the controller without disruption of partition by pull the cache from old controller and put into new. The array configuration remain.

Re: Change controller on MSA 1500CS
The cash holds temporary data and not the configuration itself. i guess that the configuration is stored on the disks (like many other storage systems). so using the same cache module will complete the disk writes that may have been trapped in the controller├в s cache but if from the server side you are able to read/write on the MSA volumes, so there is no problem with that, you just have to shutdown the server before you do the replacement.
So the steps will be as follows:
1- shutdown the servers connected to that MSA
2- remove the old controller
3- take out the cash module and put it in the new one.
3- place back the new controller
4- power up the server.
