Command View EVA misreporting allocated capacity?

EVA 8100 v6.220
Command View EVA v9.02.01.100426

When I select my FATA disk group in Command View EVA, it reports Capacity Allocated is about 43 TB. However, if I add up the capacity of all vdisks in the group, it's out 5 TB. Even doubling for vraid1, it's still nowhere near 43TB. Is Command View EVA just misreporting or could there be something else eating up capacity?

I've checked for snapshots and snapclones. There are none.

Re: Command View EVA misreporting allocated capacity?

Follow below steps:

1. restart CV service and check
2. clear temp files in browser and check

If above doesn't work then you need to re-sync the controllers.

That didn't work. How would I re-sync controllers?

Re: Command View EVA misreporting allocated capacity?

I've had this too (and was petrified too for that matter!).

I would certainly recommend getting with HP support directly about this.

Re-synching the controller is not as simple as just rebooting each one separately.

(I believe it is done from the special Field Service CV page, which I had never seen before until I got HP involved when it happened to me.)

As it happens, the issue I had was solved as part of doing an already planned firmware upgrade - doing the upgrade just happened to fix the bad allocation reporting issue too. (We were upgrading from 6.100 to 6.220.) As that (obviously!) isn't an option as you are already there, I'd get with HP.

They can look at all sorts of things (MLD corruption etc.) which I learnt about while working with them...

Not sure if any of that really helps you...

Re: Command View EVA misreporting allocated capacity?

Jeremy,

As above said I also would recommend you to get HP tech to do this for you. As field service page is not supposed to be operate by customer.

One small mistake on that page will lead you to disaster.
