Command View not discovering EVA 4400
I recently had to reimage Storage Server 2003 which hosted CommandView EVA and uninitialize/reinitianlize an EVA 4400. CommandView version 9.1, EVA 4400 Code version 09522000. EVA is using MPX100s direct into EVA for iSCSI connetion to the environment. Steps I took are as follows:
1) Uninitialized EVA using Command View from Storage Server
2) Reinstalled Storage Server from recovery CD and installed updates
3) Used SmartStart 3.1 CD to reinstall but ran into snag when couldn't discover HBA because the system has none, uses iSCSI. Work around was to use Windows Explorer and install manually
4) Started CommandView and couldn't discover uninitialized EVA
5) Re-installed CommandView using the CommandView 9.1 CD instead of SmartStart 3.1
6) Again, tried to discover EVA from CommandView with no success
7) Launched integrated CommandView from he WOCP , discovered and initialized array.
8) From EVA WOCP launched CommandView on the Storage Server, tried to discover array, still no success.
Any help would be appriciated

Re: Command View not discovering EVA 4400
Hello,
Are you trying to discover det EVA through iSCSI connection from CommandView ?
That won't work.
You need a FC HBA on the storage server - alternatively use the WOCP
Check the storagesystem using the WOCP-ip:2373 for WOCP management, and 2372 for Command View.
Regards

Re: Command View not discovering EVA 4400
Yes, it should be able to discover the EVA because it had previously.

Re: Command View not discovering EVA 4400
Please see the iSCSI quick start guide: http://bizsupport2.austin.hp.com/bc/docs/support/SupportManual/c01418786/c01418786.pdf
Command View does "talk" SMI-S over the FC link for management of the EVA's.
Did you upgrade the WOCP with latest ABM software ?
Regards
