Re: Compaq StorageWorks San Switch 2/8-EL

Hi!

This varies depending on what FOS you are running.

What about the factory/admin accounts? Do you know the passwords for them?

I would suggesting contacting HP Support for this reset.
Found some internal advisories for this and there's a massive amounts of steps that needs to be done.

You probably have to connect to it via serial port.

Re: Compaq StorageWorks San Switch 2/8-EL

I can connect to it via serial cable no problem but when i get to the login i do not know the password. I do not know the password to the root account or admin/factory or user account. Is there a procedure that you can send to me to reset it?

Re: Compaq StorageWorks San Switch 2/8-EL

Hi,

This is also known as the Brocade Silkworm 3200. Search the web or this forum for Brocade password recovery. It specifically depends upon the F/OS version the switch is running. See some examples here:

You may have to contact HP or Brocade if all four passwords have been reset and forgotten.

Re: Compaq StorageWorks San Switch 2/8-EL

when teh root login was not changed, log as:
username = root
password = fibranne
if the login is succesfully try the command "passwddefault"

if no, you need a special password recovery string from brocade. th eproblem is here, this switch is EOL and End of Support....

Good luck.
