Re: Converting from Securepath to MPIO on an EVA
Hi,
the linked upgrade code is correct and you are not losing anything:
In general
the AP controller firmware (eva/msa) can be handled only via sec_path and mpio basic
the AA controller firmware (eva/msa) only via mpio ff.

Re: Converting from Securepath to MPIO on an EVA
I recently upgraded some of our servers on and eva 5000 we are converting to active/active.
We had issues with secure path once we upgraded teh firmware on our controllers and had to remove the controllers to get the Server too boot.
in steps..we
1) unpresented the disks
2) upgraded the firmware to supported and suggested level by hp.
3) secure did not like above and had to remove cards for server to boot.
4) removed secure path and rebooted.
5) Installed cards and restatred server.
6) updated storport and scsiport drivers -reboot
7) installed mpio basic (san not active active yet).
8) represented disk (windows rescan)
9) all is working fine.
hope that helps
cheers
Steve
