D380 G5 and QLOGIC QLE2462 HBA

I have connected a HP Proliant D380 G5 to a SAN storage based on EMC with a Qlogic QLE2462 HBA card. (We are in Solaris 10)
After integration of the server into the EMC San Storage, I rebooted the server and noticed some LUNZ in the /var/adm/messages.
I tried to fdisk, and I tried to format the device but I alwas got the message " Cannot open device /dev/rdsk/c4t0d0p0".

Please help if you got a similar problem.

Re: D380 G5 and QLOGIC QLE2462 HBA

I am not familiar with that "EMC San Storage", but some storage arrays present a controller (type 12) device at LUN address 0 which can be used for SCSI-3 REPORT LUNS inquiries and/or in-band management. As far as I can tell, there is no storage capacity behind a type 12 device so don't be surprised if you can't create a partition table (or write anything).
