DCFM (ENT) & Seed Switches

Hi all,

I have 2 fabrics, The seed switch on both are silkworm 4100 (4GBx 32 port). DCFM (10.4.1) recommends that they are both changed. But when I come to change it, the message " There are no accepted switches capable of acting as seed switches in the fabric" is displayed. The current switches in both fabrics are 2x 5480,4024,5300 and 4100,

Has anybody got any ideas?

regards

Re: DCFM (ENT) & Seed Switches

Hi all,

Solution is as follows,

1. Find out which switch is allocated as the principal in both fabrics.

2. Delete the fabrics in DCFM (the switches continue to operate as nomal)

3. Discover the fabrics using the principal switch ip, reset the snmp settings and it displays properly.

It seems for some reason DCFM got its knickers in a twist and flagged the subordinate switch as the seed, which is why it wouldnt release it.

hope this helps somebody else
