Hi,
The 64-Bit Edition, because the windows Extended Systems is for amd.
So the first one.

I gave to 10 points but looks like you are wrong. I don't have Itanium based server. It is DL 380 G5 server which is QuadCore Xeon.

Then it's the other one.

You're not the one confused by the OS terminology.

32 bit version is usually named x86, W32 or even IA32

64 bits version for Intel Xeon and AMD Opteron can be seen with x64, x86-64, AMD64, EM64T or 64-bit Extended suffixes.

64 bits version for Intel Itanium is usually refered to as IA64, Itanium or 64-Bit

Thank you,

Take a look at the page with all the downloads:

http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/DriverDownload.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&prodNameId=1143907&taskId=135&prodTypeId=12169&prodSeriesId=1809835&submit.y=7&submit.x=9тМй=en&cc=us

See how for each Windows and Linux version there are 3 possibilites.

For Windows:

- Microsoft Windows Server 2003
- Microsoft Windows Server 2003 64-Bit Edition
- Microsoft Windows Server 2003 for 64-bit Extended Systems

For yor Proliant DL380 G5 it would be the "64-bit Extended Systems" version

Microsoft Windows Server 2003 for 64-bit Extended Systems = Microsoft Windows Server 2008 x64

Microsoft Windows Server 2003 64-Bit Edition = Microsoft Windows Server 2008 Itanium

Typo, obviously it is:

Microsoft Windows Server 2003 for 64-bit Extended Systems = Microsoft Windows Server 2003 x64

Microsoft Windows Server 2003 64-Bit Edition = Microsoft Windows Server 2003 Itanium

I never had this much of issue doing installation of one HBA adapter. I do have two servers for this Oracle cluster I am planning to install and on both server these Emulex HBA are driving me crazy. They simple won't install. There must be something I am doing wrong. In other hand, I never had such a problems with QLOGIC adapters. So can somebody help me here with correct procedure for installation of this HBA on Windows 2003 Std Edition, 64 bits (no service packs).

Hi! I came across this exact same issue. Oddly enough, I was able to get the 64-bit Windows 2008 driver to function under 64-bit Windows 2003. Works great!
