Data Migration

I want to migrate data from MSA 1000 to EVA 6000. Any procedure ???

Hi,

one way should be the following:
both storages should be presented to the same hosts and then copied the file systems/files from the MSA to EVA newly created volumes.

Thanks for the reply. So i can install MPIO for MSA 1500 Active/Active and connect MSA 1500 and EVA 6000 to same system and migrate the data..

of course only if you have MSA A/A controller firmware...

Yes. have MSA 1500 FW 7 which is active/active. so i can procedd ???

Hello,

yes, this will work. I've done this a many times. I often used host-based mirror, to mirror the volumes instead of copying the data. Often this worked without downtime for the application.
