Delete zones NOT in effective config. <-- Brocade SAN Switch's

Hi,

I have many zones that have been taken out of the effective config. and now wish to delete then. I could do this 1 by 1, flicking through the java screen but I think this will be slow and potential stuff ups may occur. I was thinking of doing this vi CLI. Any way to list the Zones that are not in the effective config ?

Thanks

Hi

You can output all zones with cfgshow and then mark zones that are not in effective configuration best way is to see in zones GUI on the configuration TAB (zones not in effective configuration are shown in bold on configuration TAB).

Then you can issue zonedelete through CLI and cfgsave in the end.

Thanks for the reply. That seems to be still a fairly manual method (sifting through the zones). But I will probably run with that.

Thanks again.

If it's a [123]times action, the GUI is idd your best - and fastest - bet. But if you want to do some zone management on a regular basis, you might wanna script it, just get the cfgshow & cfgactvshow lists and run crossreferences. (be aware of standby zones and such though ;) )
