Disk Firmware Compatibility

I have an EVA5000 with a disk group of 72gb 10K RPM drives with a firmware version of 3BE3. I am about to add 8 more of the same drives but noticed that there are 3 of them with firmware version 3BE9. I'm in kind of a rush to get them grouped and don't want to take the time to do a firmware load on them. Will I have any compatibity issues on my SAN if I just group them as is? Thanks for any input!

Re: Disk Firmware Compatibility

I see the great majority of my disks at 3BE3 are now unsupported. I will plan on upgrading their firmware. But, for now, is it okay to group 3BE3 and 3BE9 firmware levels in the same group without problems? Thanks.

Re: Disk Firmware Compatibility

Disk drives should have current firmware to avoid problems.

Hope this helps!
