Does BusinessCopy EVA supports VMWare and which agent is to be used

Hallo,
Does somebody works with BusinessCopy EVA in VMWare environement?
Does it works for VMFS and RDM?
Which agent do you use? I cannot find agent for VMWare in the agent CD.

Hello,

It all depends what you need to use it for.

BC works for all types of vdisks, but special considerations are to be taken when using it on e.g. VMFS volumes (resignaturing in vmware etc.)

Whats you scenario ?

Thanks for your answer.

The customer want to make a snapshot for the VMDK disk and RDM disk and present it to the backup server for backup.

But are you sure it works with VMWare ESX because the documentation is not clear, there is no instruction how to install BC agent in an ESX server nor aget sofware for ESX server.

OK - That wont work out.

Usually to backup VMDK files you will need to use VMware Consolidated Backup to get at consistent backup.

Regarding using BC on RDM's (i haven't tried this) - But if the disk is in physical compability mode, and you install the agent on the virtual machine it would probably work)
