Re: EVA 4000 hard disk near to fail
Hello @ashrafsabry
Good day,!
you can insolate a fault using one of the following methods.
1. you can physically inspect the LED status of the drive and isolate if of the drives that have failed/Not
Link : https://support.hpe.com/hpesc/public/docDisplay?docId=c03397626&docLocale=en_US
2. you can check the CV-EVA and see if any of the drives have failed/not.
3. For in-depth analysis of bad sector you can extract EVA logs, but I think you may have to contact HPE support to get it analyzed.
@ashrafsabry I hope this helps!

Re: EVA 4000 hard disk near to fail
Hello @ashrafsabry !
Good day! Thank you for the screenshots!
1. let me begin with a couple of queries
1. was there any recent hardware/HDD replacement?
2. Are there any drives in the "un-Grouped" state.
3. could you confirm if all the drives are added to their respective disk groups?
2 . with respect to 2nd Screen-shot
I see there is a warning next to hardware,
Generally, these alerts are triggered when there is a hardware failure in terms of I/O module/Drive/controller or Loop failure.
I could not find the screenshot for enclosure 1, however, could check and confirm if you are seeing any kind of warning/failed alert next to any of the hardware,
If so, you may have to replace the same at the earliest.
@ashrafsabry I hope this helps!

Re: EVA 4000 hard disk near to fail
Hi....
Thank you for your quick reply and for your help
here is my answer for first Question :
1. was there any recent hardware/HDD replacement? Yes , I change one hard disk 72GB from 3 months before
2. Are there any drives in the "un-Grouped" state. NO
3. could you confirm if all the drives are added to their respective disk groups? YES, I confirm
yes there is hardware warning next to hardware because there is a bad battery in controller B
I just have 2 enclosures No.2 and No.3
Thanks

Re: EVA 4000 hard disk near to fail
Hello @ashrafsabry
Thank you for your response,
Current situation
If there are no visible drive failures, No reconstructions, or any other activities in progress, and still the issue persists, then I am afraid we might have to take a closer look at the unit. The CV-EVA screenshots do help us to an extent, but the insights they provide are limited.
Next Plan of actions
We may have to extract the logs and take a deeper look at the array, We may need to analyze in-depth the Medium read/write and unrecovered errors for each of the drives, check on all the alerts that are triggered, and based on that we might be able to frame an appropriate action plan,
@ashrafsabry I hope this helps!

Re: EVA 4000 hard disk near to fail
Hello @ashrafsabry
Hope you are doing well!
The tech-support generally uses the GUI or a log analyzer tool called a navigator to isolate the drive causing the issue .
They check for any read/write errors.
I am sharing a link with you hope it works. : https://hp-navigator.software.informer.com/
@ashrafsabry I hope this helps!
