EVA 4400 CV Licensing Error

Hi all,

I've taken over a 2 year old project involving a SAN on EVA4400.

When logging into the console - I have an error regarding the licensing of the product.

Licensed Capacity Summary is as follows:

CV General ; Licensed : 0Gb ; Used : 1094Gb ; Status NOT LICENSED


Further below is an Expired CV EVA Instant ON License from 30-October-2009.

I have managed to get the License file for this particular Storage - and imported it into the interface - I get the message: Operation Succeeded - but the license still show as NOT LICENSED.

Some further info; the CV Interface available is version 9.0

On the license file; I have the following info:

Product Name:
HP EVA 4TB Command View LTU (4x1TB LTU)
Product Version: 8.0
Licensing System: OVKey4
License Type : Node Locked
EVA Hostname: Any

Expiration Date: Not Applicable


Can anyone please help?

Hi Lash

An EVA4400 needs a base license.
The license you entered has a product number
The format is Txxxx
Check if this is base license is correct command view shows the type of license
If it is an upgrade license you can verify that in also command view, it should be one of the following numbers


HP CV EVA 4400 Unlimited LT T5497B
HP CV EVA 4400 Unlimited LT T5497BAE
HP CV EVA 4400 Upgrade to Unlimited LTU T5499B
HP CV EVA 4400 Upgrade to Unlimited E-Delivery LTU T5499BAE

If this is all oke the check the wwname matches with the license.
LTUs are not interchangeable.
If any doubts,then contact Webware , they can verify and regenerate the license, and provide you a temp licenses if needed.

Hi, have you tryed to refresh after install license?
I have meet this issue some days ago, after refresh, it returns ok.

HP Guided Troubleshooting available at below link has many options added to BC , Licensing etc. These may help you on this.

I had the same problem, the version of command view is 9.4, when i installed the EVA6400 CV LTU, it can't take effect, what should i do the next step ?
