EVA 4400 - Disk Replacement

Hi,

I have an eva 4400 with one disk failed. The leveling process end ok and the failed disk place into the ungrouped disks.

What is the next step to replace the disk?

- Should i remove the disk from the command view prior to replace it physically?

Best regards,

Re: EVA 4400 - Disk Replacement

From Command View navigate to the ungrouped disk, select the faulty disk and record the AL-PA number of the disk. Select the Remove tab, this ensures the correct drive is selected and then click ok. Physically remove the disk and insert the new disk in to the same slot. Navigate to the ungrouped disk section in Command View and by using the AL-PA number previuosly recorded, select the new disk and add to the disk group the faulty drive used to belong to.

The EVA-4400 uses soft addressing, so AL_PAs can change. What's wrong with the good old enclosure/bay location?
