EVA 4400 SNMP Monitoring
When I walk this OID - or anywhere near this OID - I get no response. The Command View server is responding fine to other normal OIDs.
Is there anything I need to enable/install to get this functionality? I presumed because the OID is listed in the MIB that it would just be there.
Thanks in advance for your help
Regards,
Ben.

Re: EVA 4400 SNMP Monitoring
the EVA won't answer SNMP requests. The CV server is answering it. Can you try to walk the OID on the CV server itself?
Best regards,
Patrick

Re: EVA 4400 SNMP Monitoring
What I ended up doing was scheduling a SSSU script which outputs the status of everythign to a text file, then did my alerting off keywords/strings within that text file.
The SSSU script (just a textfile) is the following:
SET OPTIONS NOCOMMAND_DELAY
SET OPTIONS ON_ERROR=HALT_ON_ERROR
SELECT MANAGER 127.0.0.1 username=user password=pass
SELECT SYSTEM "EVANAME"
LS SYS EVA2
CHECK REDUNDANCY
LS DISKSHELF FULL
LS DISK_GROUP FULL
LS DISK FULL
LS CONTROLLER FULL
Cheers,
Ben.

Re: EVA 4400 SNMP Monitoring
a bit longer as it seems strange they define
the MIB and then the products snmpd doesnt actually support it. If I find anything I will post back.
Cheers

Re: EVA 4400 SNMP Monitoring
Hi
first of all you can get the command View MIB
you can get it from command view system options - Configure even tnotification - get MIB
also if you install IRS standart on your command view server
it installs WEBES which can translate EVA events and send SNMP traps or SMTP mail
you can download from HP
https://h20392.www2.hp.com/portal/swdepot/displayProductInfo.do?productNumber=RSSTANDARD
