EVA 4400 firmware and software upgrade
Hi,
We faced a problem some time ago, and our HP technicians recommended us to upgrade our EVA 4400 controllers firmware to the latest version. After some research, I found (my conclusion based on the compatibility matrix) that we need to upgrade the full set of software prior to upgrade the firmware, so my question is, Can we upgrade the software one by one and then the firmware? What is the order of the upgrade?
This is a list of the software involved in our solution:
- HP EVA Command View 9.2
- HP Replication solutions manager 5.0
- HP Cluster extensions 3.0
- Controllers firmware 095xx000
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Regards.
P.D: The HD's firmware has been already upgraded to the last version.

Re: EVA 4400 firmware and software upgrade
- remove replication manager
- remove command view
- reboot server
- install command view 10
- install replication manager
- update firmware 10001000
- update ABM firmware (version 2.0 = CV10)
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Re: EVA 4400 firmware and software upgrade
Thanks for the rapid reply. Do you know if there is a way to do it with the minimum downtime possible? We have a really narrow maintenance window...

Re: EVA 4400 firmware and software upgrade
What is the firmware version you currently run?
If you want to do this on your own, you should first get the release notes and upgrade guides from www.hp.com/go/bsc
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.
