EVA 5000/3000 CLX/CA

if a new edges are intoduced on the ISL from both ends of the dark fiber and they are with default setting in regards to CA (IOD, DLS,APTPOLICY).can this cause DR group data to be damaged or data can be deleted.

The EVA-3000/5000 (and many other models and firmware combinations) do require certain settings to function properly. Maybe the EVA does not destroy data, but a failure due to a wrong setting is a still a disruption of regular work, so I would make _really_, _really_ sure that the requirements are met.

after the new edge is excluded we returned the ISL cable to the switches with correct ISL settings. then we used resume/suspend I/O to activate the link. was that the correct action or we should have done another way?

That is the right action, but I wonder if you are running some kind of routing services or did make changes to the core fabric, too.
From what I have seen, the switches do not merge if certain parameters are the same on all fabric members.
