EVA 5000/8000 Serial Number?

So...this question probably sounds laughable, but...I can't seem to locate the Serial Number on the EVA 5000 or EVA 8000 we have in our lab. Lots of numbers all over, but no real identifier. How do I identify the serial number on each EVA?

You can trace the serial number - on the controller enclosure, towards the rear.

The serial number you see on the CV is not the correct serial number.

Hi Scott!

There is a sticker at top of the rack on rear side.
You shold see three records on it:
Part number
Product Number
Serial Number

I think it is what you need.

Yes, look at the back, under where the door closes. You need to tilt your head WAYYYYYY back and get a spinal injury doing so.


The Serial number usually starts with USExxxxxxx.

Hi scott,
In EVA the serial Number is not electronically stored any where. Only two ways to see the serial Number
1. From your invoice from HP.
2. As steve adviced from the EVA

Hi Scott,

I have an EVA 4000 and here is how I locate the serial number. I go to the back of the rack containing the EVA, then I look around the end of one the side trails that are holding one of the controller enclosure. There is a factory sticker indicating :
Description: HP EVA 4000 C21D
S/N : xxxxxxxxxx

You can locate the serial number in a sticker in the RAC. As menthioned, The Serial number usually starts with USExxxxxxx.

The S/N prefix varies with the location.

In the US, it looks like USExxxxxxxx

In Europw, it's more like GBxxxxxxx
