EVA 8000 - Cache Battery functionality
I am looking for HP documents describing in EVA 8000 how the Cache Battery fault-tolerant is implemented. Being more specific, in each controller there are 2 cache Batteries, what is the correlation between those two, what happen if one is dead тАУ does the Array controller enters тАЬsecure modeтАЭ, Cached disabled mode? Or we remain in full functionality, even if one Battery on 1 Controller is dead.
Thanks,
IS

Re: EVA 8000 - Cache Battery functionality
the cache policies/rules are the following:
1. if the system battery on any controller is bad and
a)if the system battery on the second controller is bad too, there is no data disk presentation
b)if the second controller system battery low, all disks writethrough on the second controller
c)if the second controller system battery good, all disks writeback on the second controller
2. if the system battery on any controller is low and if the second controller system battery good, all disks writeback on the second controller.
3.
a) if both controller system battery low, all disks writethrough on both controllers
b) if both controller system battery good, all disks writeback on both controllers
