EVA 8100 perrormance

Can proactive disk error on EVA 8100 cause write latency?

Hi
do you have any performance problem in your EVA?

Re: EVA 8100 perrormance

Yes.

If you have got one or more disks logging several failures per second, that will degrade performance.

so check the event log.
If theres a disk spamming the log. Ungroupe it, at remove. Following correct procedure.

Re: EVA 8100 perrormance

We had a disk proactive alert in controller event, we were facing write latency in EVA 8100 and the issue resolved without ungrouping the disk. Just wondering this proactive would have casued the write latency?

Welcome your feedback on this?

Re: EVA 8100 perrormance

You will have to get the log analysed by HP, if you want to know for sure.

But you can check the log yourself.
Very heavy logging can affect performance.

If you have only a few entries, then: No. Or at least not very likly.

Re: EVA 8100 perrormance

It depends.
But for sure you can monitor your EVA performance via EVAperf and correlate EVA events.
