EVA 8400 (11M1000) and vaai support for esx 4.1u2

hello,

does anybody have experience with setting up VAAI support for esx hosts with EVA 8400 storage array with fw 11M1000 ? We have recently upgrade ES 4.1u2  to patch level  721871 with the 1.012 P6000 vaai plugin and firmware on EVA was raised to 11M1000, but after restart of controllers and esx hosts, the hardware acceleration status for datastores on the EVA 8400 still remain in unknown status.

Any hint what is additionally needed to make it work appreciated.

Hello Peter,

to make vaai running, you must perfom some aditional steps.

Please check http://kb.vmware.com/selfservice/microsites/search.do?language=en_US&cmd=displayKC&externalId=1021976 , see part for ESX4.1 . Please keep on mind, under ESXi 5 there is even more vaai functions available.
