EVA DSM (HP MPIO) is not claiming EVA LUNS , Its under M'soft DSM on Win2k8
EVA DSM (HP MPIO) is not claiming EVA LUNS , Its under M'soft DSM on Win2k8
- On Win2k8 SP2, during HP MPIO EVA DSM instllation , M'soft MPIO is getting enabled
- And After reboot, MSoft EVA DSM is taking control of the EVA LUNS
- I treid to Uncalim using
mpclaim.exe -r -u -d < _VendorID> < _ProductID>
But still "hpdsm devices" doesnot list any EVA LUNs are under its control
Can anyone please let me know, How to disable MSoft EVA DSM and Let HP MPIO take control of the EVA LUNs?
HP MPIO DSM MAnager is 4.0
Thanks
Raj

Hello,
first I think you have to "re-register" the EVA as an MPIO-capable device. This can be done by reinstalling the HP DSM or via mpclaim.exe. You can see a list of registered devices under MPIO in the Windows control panel.
Afterwards you should check the MPIO tab of the specific EVA disk in "Device Manager". By default Windows choses "Failover only" as policy. There should be the possibility to select "vendor-specific" or a blank entry. If you set the policy to one of these values, you should be able set your favorite policy of HPs DSM manager.
Regards
Dominic
