EVA Doubt !!!

Hi,

In our environment for server single port HBA is there to access the vdisks.But for same virtual disks we are using cluster servers.

So one of the HBA card is failed in one of this cluster servers .

After replacing the faulty HBA.

What are the changes we have to perform in EVA side and also from Zoning side.

After replacing a HBA you have a different WWN, so you need to adjust your config related to this WWN.

On the switch, find the alias for the old WWN and replace with new WWN. On EVA, do the same.

Well depends on the switch you are using ... if you use port zoning, you don't need to change anything. In EVA CV, go to the host section and find your old WWN.

Its a brocade switch.

And we are using the WWN Zoning.

For replacing the new WWN of HBA in switch side what step we need to perform.

Means just wanna ask :

we have to issue first >aliremove "aliasname" "old HBA WWN"
>alicreate "aliasname" "New HBA WWN"
>cfgsave
>cfgenable

This all steps are correct or not ?

On the EVA you can then do the same:
- add new WWN to existing host
- remove old WWN from existing host

That way you don't need to mess with any virtual disk presentations.
