EVA P6000 - support of 3TB LFF harddrives?

Hi,

do the HP P6300/P6500 SAS controller support harddrives with 3TB (and up) each?

For dual port SAS this would currently be e.g.
Seagate Constellation ES.2 http://www.seagate.com/docs/pdf/datasheet/disc/ds_constellation_es_2.pdf
or
Hitachi Ultrastar 7K3000 http://www.hitachigst.com/tech/techlib.nsf/techdocs/EC6D440C3F64DBCC8825782300026498/$file/US7K3000_ds.pdf

Hey, if it officially did you'd see it mentioned in XCS release notes and probably also in the 'disk drive firmware support' document by HP.

Largest drive currently is 2TB: http://h10010.www1.hp.com/wwpc/sg/en/sm/WF06b/12169-304616-304648-304648-304648-5062117-5062123.html

Hope this helps!

Well, it┬┤s all about the SAS controller. I now have found this: http://ir.qlogic.com/phoenix.zhtml?c=85695&p=irol-newsArticle&ID=1571818 So Qlogic is the manufacturer behind the mixed EVA 10Gbe/FC adapter.

But who is the actual manufacturer of the SAS controller?

(I have some older SAS setups. There the controller limits harddrives with higher capacities...)

The only question is: Is it supported by HP?

Hope this helps!

Re: EVA P6000 - support of 3TB LFF harddrives?

Well, then another question would also be: When will there be support for 3TB harddrives? Although the SAS based oneshave been released later, harddrives have reached 3TB one year ago, 4TB is on its way.

Are there any signs for "offical" support?
