Re: EVA4400 + CV9.1 failing big time
Apparently the issue is only with the EVA4400's. Issue related to the HSV300 controllers.

Re: EVA4400 + CV9.1 failing big time
Your experiences with the EVA4400 and Command View EVA 9.1 pretty much echo what we have seen with numerous installations - with or without Continuous Access EVA.
Shockingly slow performance from Command View, disappearing EVA4400's which can only be re-discovered with a controller reboot - a search of this forum turns up several instances of this.
We have raised it as a concern with HP that customers are being told by level 1 support to restart the controllers to make them visible again to Command View, but these cases of disappearing EVAs are not then being fed back to engineering as an issue.

Re: EVA4400 + CV9.1 failing big time
HP told us that this error was related to bad FC cabling (to much bend, squeezed, ...)
Not sure about that since we spend a lot of time in the cabling part. and why see only errors on the CV's as all the cables follow the same route in the rack? coincidence.
Anyhow, the cables will be replaced tomorrow, proactively.

Re: EVA4400 + CV9.1 failing big time
Since we changed the zoning we haven't had any occurences anymore. Hopefully it stays this way since we're going live next week.
Since we upgraded our WAN link the response of the command view servers are a lot faster... so was directly related to the congestion we had. But still sometimes the behaviour is slow even when querying the local EVA. CV9.2 addresses this issue.
That's all folks..THX
