EVA4400 HSV300-S Resetting management IP address on the embedded switches.

Hello all,

I have an EVA4400 array with a HSV300-S controller with the embedded 8-port fibre switches. I need to access the Brocade switch management software, however I cannot access the switches using the 10.77.77.77 or 10.77.77.78 IP addesses for the management ports. I can't ping these addresses either, which leads me to believe that they may have been changed by someone before me. Does anyone know of a way to reset these addresses back to their defaults? I've checked every manual that I can find with no luck. I know that I could connect to the serial management port but, unfortunately, I have not been able to locate the special cable needed. I have a new cable on order, but would really like to get this resolved sooner if I can.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Regards,

Patrick Paton

1. Check if you can telnet/SSH to the switch with these IP's with your credentials. If you are not able to do that then there's a fair chance that IP Address is changed/reset or may be credentials provided are incorrect.

2. In that case, Create a Serial Connection to the Switch:

3. Log in to the switch with your credentials.

4. If your credentials doesn't work then contact support to guide you with Password Reset/Recovery.

Re: EVA4400 HSV300-S Resetting management IP address on the embedded switches.

Sorry to necro this thread, but one way to discover the IPs that the switches have been changed to is to use WireShark or some other packet sniffing utility.  Power on while connected and you should see requests coming through from the switch's management port.  Change your laptop's wired connection to be in the same range, and go to http://<switch_ip>   and it should launch the brocade switch manager program.

I just did this, except it's password protected so i still can't log in and change/reset the IPs.  Is it easy/free for HP to assist with a password reset from here?  I haven't found ANY way to do it manually.  I've tried via the serial port, but got stuck there too since it's also asking me for a login.
