EVA4400 Minium disks on Enclosure

Hi Experts,

Is there any rule like number of minimum disks on a EVA4400 disk enclosure. Can we add 4 new disk enclosure with 15 disks. I will put 4 disks in each but only 3 in the last one. I heared that, minimum 4 disks are mandatory on a disk enclosure. Please give your comments.

Hi Pramod, there is no minimum disks specified for an enclosure in EVA4400. However there are minimums applicable to form a disk group depending on disk type. Refer quick specs link below.

AFAIR you need to have at least 1 disk per enclosure.

I believe it uses the disk as a staging area for drive enclosure firmware. You won't see the drive enclosure at all in Command View otherwise.

Dear Pramod M,

There have no minimum disk limited in each enclosure.But you must use at least 8 disk to make up a disk group.
