EVA4400 additional shelf

I have an EVA4400 2C5D fully populated with 400GB 10K drives.

I want to add another shelf. I know 8 drives is minimum per enclosure but is there a performance reason to go for 12 drives instead?

Minimum is 4 drives per enclosure.
The performance is proportional to the number of disks on the disk group, so adding 12 disks will give a little more performance increase than adding 8.
