EVA4400 : write-back not possible on VDISK !

On our EVA4400, we can't activate write-back on VDISK ! Only write-through mode is possible ! We are using XCS v09006000 and CV EVA 8.1. This is not the first time we are configuring an EVA with thses software version, but ti's first time that going wrong !

check the cache batteries first, because if they are all low in both controllers, all writes are only write-through according to the cache policy...

A new virtual disk will also be in write-through mode for some time and change to write-back later.

Hello,

maybe the batteries of the owning controller are failed. Take off the front bezel of the controller assembly and take a look at the batteries. Other way: Physical view in the navigation pane of the CV and take a look at the controllers.

Have you presenetd the disk ??
For all the time I can remember across many versions of CV until you present the vdisk it will stay as write-through even if you try to change it.
Just present the vdisk and then it should be OK because the default is write-back.
