Good day.
I`ve a eva5000 and IBM Power750 system, than I`m trying to connect them, AIX can not seem hsv110 with standard driver IBM.MPIO and HP.MPIO driver. AIX showing:
hdisk6 Defined 05-00-01 Other FC SCSI Disk Drive
hdisk7 Defined 07-00-01 Other FC SCSI Disk Drive
hdisk8 Available 05-00-01 Other FC SCSI Disk Drive
hdisk18 Defined 05-00-01 Other FC SCSI Disk Drive
hdisk19 Available 05-00-01 Other FC SCSI Disk Drive
hdisk20 Available 07-00-01 Other FC SCSI Disk Drive
hdisk21 Available 07-00-01 Other FC SCSI Disk Drive
but eva presented one vdisk to AIX host.
Can I upgrade eva firmware from 3.028->3.110->4.100 to solve the promblem? Is upgrade 3.110->4.100 for free or I must pay for this?
Thanks.

Solution
There must be one more, because 3.X VCS is an Active/Passive VCS and you should use MPIO for A/P EVA's,
going to 4.X firmware converts your EVA to an Active/Active array and if your AIX has ability to use native Multipathing then you will see single LUN, if not then you will need proper version of the MPIO for Act/Act. EVA.
You can read the Rel.Notes of VCS 4.100 here.
http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bc/docs/support/SupportManual/c01608153/c01608153.pdf
If you have an active contract for your EVA, you can download and upgrade both 3.110 & 4.100
also you may need to upgrade the CV EVA SW and yes, it also needs License/contract.
And finally this document seems to be best for you:
