EVA5000 reporting incorrect vdisk space available

we have a EVA5000 that has 152 disks in the default disk group, capacity is 20773 Gb and the Occupancy is only 14897 GB, However the maximum Vdisk sizes availble are correct for the space available.

Any ideas what is happening?

I have attached a screenshot of the CEVA disk group properties window.

Is this EVA doing CA to another EVA?

What VCS version are you running?

Do you have a BC license?

YOu likely have storage being used in other places... containers, log files... but without the bigger picture, can't really tell.

Yes, we have 2 that replicate to each other.
The other EVA appears to be giving correct figures though.

I am still confused due to the fact that there should be 5+ TB of available storage in the default group however only 433 GB is availble for Vraid0 when there should be 2047 GB shown.

I am obviously missing something here as that seems a lot of space missing even with logging etc.

Take a look at the Log file sizes on your DR groups.

I am almost sure they do not "display" in the occupancy, though I could be wrong.


Again, without seeing more of the configuration... can't really pin-point anything specific.

Can you post more screenshots?

The Re-Sync on the EVA will resolve the issue I suppose.

We faced the same issue earlier on EVA8K which showing as DG space is around 25TB and free space is around 40TB like that.

In this kind of situation defenetly re-sync will help but not sure about the execution on Replicated EVAs.

The Re-Sync will do a fast reboot on Both Controllers (Sometimes IO outage can happen).

I have checked all the logs and all appears to be OK.
I did a discovery on the EVA and now it has decided to do a level, hopefully after this strange new level for no reason it will settle down.
I will post after the level has completed.
