EVA8000, failed disk device and ungrouping

All,

Recently we experienced a failed disk device in our EVA8000.  (OpenVMS v8.3-1h1 is the operating system running on

rx6600 servers).  The failed device was part of a storage group.  Now that it has gone belly up it has been set to ungrouped.

How can I find what disk group it initially belonged to?

Thanks in advance.

well that's a first, the obvious question is why?  But seriously, do you have a copy of the config (captured by SSSU), if so do another and look for the difference, or check the log entries to see which group re leveled after the disk failed.  Shouldn't really make any difference though, since if a group is filling up then add more disks to it, and if not then there is no problem.

If you have a correlation between physical location and what disk group the disk is in, you could find it this way as well.

Most disk groups I have seen are made up with an even number of disks.

How many disk groups do you have?
