EVA8000 manual and steps to do on the windows side

Hello,

I need link for EVA8000/8100 manuals.
also after creating LUNS in the SAN, what are the steps in Windows, VMWARE, Linux to recognize the newly allocated LUN
( I know in HPUX, ioscan, insf -e -C disk these needs to be done to recognize)

Re: EVA8000 manual and steps to do on the windows side

Windows: In Disk Administrator, right click Disk Administrator and click rescan. (You may need to go into the Device Manager first to "Scan for new hardware", though Windows should automatically detect the new devices.)

VMware: Using the ViClient, connect to virtual center, or the server directly and on the Configuration tab, under storage... click the adaptor in question and than click rescan.

Linux: Similar to unix, though I do not know exactly what the command(s) would be.

Re: EVA8000 manual and steps to do on the windows side

for linux you may get a HBA vendor specific utilities to scan .And always test the utility on a DEV server and make sure to chose the right bit one(like 32 versus 64)

also there are tradition techncs like below if you want to pay with

echo "scsi add-single-device ${MIN_HBA} ${CHN} ${ID} ${LUN}" > /proc/scsi/scsi
