EVA8400 BC Testing on Same RedHatLinux5.0 host

Dear Friends

My Client has a requirement to Implement BC on EVA8400, So, i am working on a Test Plan to implement this. I installed RSM Server on SMA server and RSM Host agent on Linux host which we are planning to Test.
Client want to test the BC(snapshot/clone/mirrorclone) on the Same host where the original Vdisk is presented/mounted.
But the Linux team is afraid of this idea and suggesting to do test on 2nd host.
Can anyone please Explain how we can Test this on Same host ? and suggest the First steps(Best practices) for this implementation and how to test?(as i am new to the replication)
