We have an MSA 1000 and a SAN switch. The host is an rx8620 complex which has 2 vPars and an nPar. The nPar is installed with HP VM and there are 5 VM gusts installed. The VM guests are using that MSA 1000 and the vPars are using the same MSA volume.
Recently the connection between the host and the MSA is lost. While logging into the MSA, we found that the connections were in offline state and it turns to online when the ioscan is issued.
We got the following error on the dmesg.
"1/0/8/1/0/4/0: Device at device id 0x20400 has disappeared from Name Server GPN_FT
(FCP type) response, or its 'Port World-Wide Name' has changed.
device id = loop id, for private loop devices
device id = nport ID, for fabric/public-loop devices
System won't be able to see LUNs behind this port."
Also the syslog says -
"Feb 3 01:47:25 hpcpc80 vmunix: 0/0/8/1/0/4/0: Device at device id 0x20400 has disappeared from Name Server GPN_FT
Feb 3 01:47:25 hpcpc80 vmunix: (FCP type) response, or its 'Port World-Wide Name' has changed.
Feb 3 01:47:25 hpcpc80 vmunix: device id = loop id, for private loop devices
Feb 3 01:47:25 hpcpc80 vmunix: device id = nport ID, for fabric/public-loop devices
Feb 3 01:47:25 hpcpc80 vmunix: System won't be able to see LUNs behind this port."
Is there anything need to change on the MSA configuration?.
Please Advise.
Thanks in Advance,
Jayaprakash S
