Eva 4400 (09522000)

Hi all... we have 2 x "failed" disks on our DR array. 2 DGs FC and FATA. 1 failed drive in each DG. Cant find anything specific on this anywhere... is it ok to ungroup both simultaneously? Thanks in advance.

If the disk are failed they should no longer be a member of any diskgroupe - meaning no need to ungroupe manually.

Re: Eva 4400 (09522000)

If the disk will allow it then ungroup and allow it to level. Then with Command View highlight the disk and click the "Remove Disk" button from the Hardware tree. The controllers will be happier than just pulling the drive.

Since you have two DG's I should think you could do both ops simultaneously.

Hello Dja,
If the disks are failed in different DG,then you can replace it together. Ensure that the reocnstruction in DG is complete before replacing the disk. this can be confirmed by eva controller logs.

Thanks for the responses. Neither disk was actually "failed" rather, one was reporting "loop lost" and advised replacement by HP the other was actually showing as good but HP wanted it replaced anyway after looking at logs in relation to disk 1. They were in different DGs so based on the responses here I went ahead and ungrouped simultaneously.
Cheers

Dja.
