Current config of my MSA1500cs
- dual channel SCSI I/O with MSA30 - 14 x 146GB SCSI drives on first channel
- Single Channel SCSI / SATA with MSA20 with 6 SATA drives
I want to add an additional MSA30 with 8 300GB SCSI disks, can I add this to the second I/O channel or do I need an additional I/O controller?

Solution
Simply put, you need an additional adaptor.
You can not connect a SATA and a SCSI to one module. In fact, you can only attach 1 SCSI shelf to a module OR up to 2 SATA shelves.

Re: Expand MSA1500cs
Thanks for the quick, to the point response. Looks like I'm buying another I/O controller.
