Expand a volume

Hello,
on my msa2324fc i create a vdisk and in the vdisk a boot volume for my blade server.
Now i want to expand the boot volume. In the vdisk i have 100GB free.
If i run expand volume in the smu i get an error: "Unable to expand the volume. Command is not supported".

What is my problem?

Thanks and regards
Tobias

Re: Expand a volume

Hi Tobias,

"Command is not supported" is pretty self-explanatory.
I would go ahead and check if there is a later fw for that MSA and try again after updating.
Also as Mark wrote, try via CLI.

Re: Expand a volume

Hi,
thanks a lot for answers, by testing expand volume in CLI i saw that my volume is a master, so that i first convert it to a std volume.
It is right, that i must buy a licence for copy volumes?

best regards

Re: Expand a volume

That would make it clearer :)

Yes, to be able to do snaps or clone/copy you would need additional licences.
