Extend Array on HP MSA 1000

I have two BAYS connected to HP MSA1000.. one bay is completely full and other is half empty... there are two arrays created on one bay and the third array is created on second bay.. I want to add more disks on first two arrays which are on first bay.. My question: is it possible to extend array by adding disks on another bay??

I will be performing this entension by using diskpart utility..

Re: Extend Array on HP MSA 1000

You can add any disk to any array. It does not matter on what enclosure or bay it is.
In fact many times arrays are created choosing disks from different disk enclosures to have more protection against failures.

Yes, disks in any shelf can be added to LUNs to extend the size.

Re: Extend Array on HP MSA 1000

I am getting following error when I tried to extend:

"The volume you have selected may not be extended.
Please select another volume and try again."

I used the following commands:

DP:> List volume

DP:> Select Volume 5 (thats the partition i would like to extend)

DP:> extend

but get the above ERROR.

I would like to mention that in HP Array configuration Utility Manager, I can see the new hard disk as in Unused Space, but not in any Array.

Am I missing something?
