How it is used with EVA 5000 ans SAN switch?

Re: Fabric OS and SAN

I think what you are referring to is the HP StorageWorks Secure Fabric OS.

If this is not the case, then please disregard the next few paragraphs ;o)...

Secure Fabric OS...

...is like an extention of the capabilities of your existing brocade based SAN switches. Secure Fabric OS adds secure functionality to your switch management. Examples would be...

Multiple levels of password protection
Strong Password Encryption
Public Key Infrastructure Authentication
128bit encryption

Secure Fabric OS is not software. It is a license that unlocks these features contained in the firmware of the Brocade Switches.

...for more details, specifications and additional license/software availabilities.

You can check here...

...for more design information.

So, in essense, Fabric OS does not directly work with the EVA, only the SAN Switch, but involves the EVA since it is a resource on your SAN which you might effect with additional security features available with the license.

I could be totally/partially wrong too. Not an expert on the subject.
