Fiber Channel Card no linkage to SAN Switch
I am having problem with a cloned HPUX 11.23
N class FC card. It's HP5158A Tachyon TL same
as the clone source. I installed the latest
driver and it is still no link at the SAN
switch port. I plugged it to a good port (used
for a working machine), and the link light
went to amber. One head of the FC cable has
light coming from the sever so it is not a
cable problem. The SAN storage is Netapp and
the switch is SilkWorm. From the server FC
port, I only see one green light, no activity
light. I suspect there it's FC software issue.
If you have any idea, please help...

Re: Fiber Channel Card no linkage to SAN Switch
in my cases, i hade this staus "AWAITING_LINK_UP" the hba was broken, needed to replace it, if you have a FC terminator check if the HBA is working.

Re: Fiber Channel Card no linkage to SAN Switch
If the s/w state in "ioscan -fnC fc" is CLAIMED, then there is no issue with driver.
It also shows Driver state = AWAITING_LINK_UP, If HBA card is configured as a standby.

working before the cloning. Are there some
kind command/tool to troubleshoot? I don't
have a FC terminator.
