Fibre Optics SAN
Hi Friends,
What type of Fibre optics cables available(Single and Multi Mode)? I would like to understand the distance, speed limitations. I am very much new to SAN technology, hence wanted to understand how it works. Also how can we achieve a fibre optic cable connectivity between 2 Data Centers separated by 100-500KM?

Re: Fibre Optics SAN
You can get both.
For Server and Storage "normal" is Multimode.
For the Switch you can use Multi- or Monomode.
Google for "SAN Design Reference Guide" on the HPE Sites, this should give you all the answers you need.
