Fix port speed to1 Gbit/sec

Hi,

A customer has two HP StorageWorks 8/24 SAN Switches. We need fix speed one port to 1 Gbit/sec for WDM link.

When we did it (portcfgspeed portnumber,1) it showed the status port like Mod_Inv. We tried the same with a 4 Gbps SFP and it was the same. We connected one server FC port to WDM link, and other site switch showed the server WWN, so the WDM link works.

I can't merge the inter-site switches becasue I can't fix speed one port to 1 Gbit/sec in HP StorageWorks 8/24 SAN Switches.

Anybody can help us?

Thank you.

Which transceiver kit are you using? There are only a handful of kits that are "compatible" with the 8/24. What are the part numbers of the kits you have tried?

Re: Fix port speed to1 Gbit/sec

what is the result of the sfpshow command ?

On 8/24 models, you may have 2 types of SFP, 8Gbs or 4Gbs.

If 4Gbs, you can adress 4, 2 or 1Gbs.

If 4Gbs, you can adress 8, 4 or 2Gbs.

Re: Fix port speed to1 Gbit/sec

I tried with a 4 Gbps non-Brocade SFP and it wasn't run.

With a 4 Gbps brocade SFP, it's works perfectly.

Thanks.
