HELP! Cant create an ISL between DC04 SAN Director and 8/20q switch?

As the subject states, I cannot create a ISL and/or trunk.

In the past when we connected two 8/20q switches together it automatically detected it as a ISL and was good to go. Now I am trying to connect it to a DC04 and the ports wont even come online.

I have tried the different port types, f-port trunking, etc and no luck. The closest I can get is to say its online and healthy on the DC04 side but the 8/20q side says "connecting" -- otherwise it just never even tries.

I am assuming the 8/20q is capable of trunking ISL connections but for the life of me cant figure out whats wrong.

Re: HELP! Cant create an ISL between DC04 SAN Director and 8/20q switch?

So the 8/20q is a q-logic SAN switch right?

Have you set any interop mode? Is the 8/20q empty(or default settings?) like no zoning?

On HP SPOCK there are interopability settings between c, b and m-series. But not q- :/

Googled a little and looks like qlogic's website has some documents about this.

Does it say anything in for example errdump on the brocade or similar on the qlogic?

Correct it is.

I have not set any interop modes.

Yes it is empty and pretty much default settings. There is no zoning setup.

I dont see any error dumps or anything on either switch.

What docs are you referring to?
