HP 2012FC - Warning message - DMS threshold reached

Hi all,

I have a warning message in the Event Log of my SAN storage (HP 2012FC double controller).

The message says:

Warning 2010-06-20 17:37:06 229 A18784 Warning: DMS threshold reached for volume 00c0ffd7af590000f57bcb4a01000000, count 100

What does it mean? Can anybody help? I wasn't able to find an answer by myself.

Thanks!

any news about that?
I'm receiving the same message from my MSA2012fc (single controller).
What is that "DMS threshold"?

Re: HP 2012FC - Warning message - DMS threshold reached

Hi Michele,

no, I never got to know the reason behind that warning.

The only thing that I discovered at the time, is that it was related to a snap pool.

You can use "show volumes" on the CLI to find out if the volume corresponding to that uuid.

The strange thing was that the snap pool itself was not full or anything... I perfectly remember this.

What firmware are you running? I was on J200P39 at the time. Now I'm on J200P46.

Here too the message seems to be related to the snapshot pool.
Maybe the message is simply saying that the SAN had to delete some older snapshot to make some space available to the new snapshot.

I'm using the firmware J200P46.
