HP DP backup to EVA successful but Restore fails.

We just completed a RH ES 5.5 conversion on DL380 servers from RH ES 3.0. Runing HP DP 6.11 backup to EVA 4400 San, then offload to HP MSL6020s. Prior to conversion, could restore. Can restore from MSL6020s no problem but restore from SAN fails every time. Error message:

Trying to restore a 20GB proprietory dbase written in APPX.

Any suggestions?
