HP EVA P6000, error disk is unsupported

Hi

Recently adquired a 2TB SAS 7.2K disk model: MB2000FAMYV. However at the time of adding it to the EVA, I get the message: Disk is unsupported. The disk has the version of firmware HPD7 an the EVA has the version of firmware v10.01.00.120424.

Validating in the following document: https://www.istoragenetworks.com/servermanuals/HPE-EVA-P6000-HDD-Firmware.pdf

The disk has the appropiate version of firmware, without it i managed to initialize it.

The others of disk of 1TB inside the EVA, has version of firmware HPD4 and HPD5.

What cloud generate this type of error ?

Regards

Hi,

The EVA drive has 'EVA SAS' listed on the front beside drive handle. Is it displayed?

If yes, could you reseat it or test it in different slot?

The same model drives are used on variety of storage & server products, the storage bit set at manufacturing marks them different.

Additionally, may I know if it is new drive (from HPE or 3rd party vendors) or re-used from different system (which system/model)?

Since the drive model 'MB2000FAMYV' belongs to SAS, I assume EVA array is P6xx0 model. You may view supported drives at:

'3.5" Hot Plug Drives for EVA P6300/P6500'
'2.5" Hot Plug Drives for EVA P6300/P6500'

https://support.hpe.com/hpsc/doc/public/display?docId=emr_na-c00305257

**M6612/M6625 are P6xx0 array disk shelf models.
