HP P2000 G3

I am having a problem assigning a LUN to my server.
I created 3 Vdisks(raid 5; 7 disks) RG100, RG200, RG300
then I created a volume in each of the vdisks
for 100GB

RG100_v100
RG200_v200
RG300_v300
I create the mappings the same but for some reason RG300_v300 never shows up on the server.
Am i missing something is there a character naming limit ?!? i have delerted and recreated the volumes many times over.

Re: HP P2000 G3

what kind of host?

ssh or telnet to the P2000 (same login/pw as for GUI) and run:

# show hosts
# show volumes
# show host-maps

Re: HP P2000 G3

Download free 'putty' and then you can 'ssh' or 'telnet' into the array to do those commands.

Re: HP P2000 G3

Use a LUN address between 1 and 255.

Re: HP P2000 G3

BTW, your actual LUN names don't match the original post,
but I have much longer names.

Did you re-scan disks in W2k8?

According to MS forum:

"There is no limitation on LUN number,
if they do not need to be assigned a drive letter.

Related information is mentioned in this thread:
http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en/winserverClustering/thread/e7e63b88-ba82-4402-b1d5-c85c93c4b233
"

So the number 300 might/should be OK as far as LUN goes, but you might have a problem in Windows using it.

So, as Uwe said, try a lower number for fun and profit.

Re: HP P2000 G3

Unbelievable it was the 300 naming, Win2008 must have a limitation..
All my LUNS are being seen.

I changed it to 210 and it worked!!!!
