Re: HP SAN Switch 4/8 Firmware Upgrade
Upgrading to Fabric OS v6.0.0 is only allowed from Fabric OS v5.3.x.
The ideal way to obtain FOS is by contacting your HP Service rep.
Incase this is not possible, you will find your software here

Re: HP SAN Switch 4/8 Firmware Upgrade
upgrading from 5.1 requires the following upgrade path: 5.2.x - 5.3.x - 6.1.x - 6.2.x.
If I'm not mistaken the latest firmware should be 6.2.2c.
You can find the latest firmwares here: http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/SoftwareIndex.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&prodNameId=1143867&prodTypeId=12169&prodSeriesId=1143864&swLang=8&taskId=135&swEnvOID=54#290.
Check the release notes before performing the upgrades.
Obtaining the necessary firmwares can be done on several ways:
- recommended: open a support call;
- if you have enough time you can browse the ftp, normally they should be still there.
Keep in mind if you're running these old firmwares, it's recommended to perform an update of the servers as storage boxes also.
Best of luck!

Re: HP SAN Switch 4/8 Firmware Upgrade
Once logged on, scroll down to
Other Hardware (left column) and select switches.
Current document is
http://h20272.www2.hp.com/utility/document.aspx?docurl=Shared%20Documents/hw/switches/B-Series_FC_Switch_Connectivity_Stream_2010_09_17.pdf
and you will see the range from 6.2.1b to 6.2.2c for this model.
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.
