HP SAN Switch 4/8 Firmware Upgrade

Trying to update f/w from 5.1 to 6.2.2 . I understand i need to go by steps.

1 5.2.x
2 6.0.x
3 6.1.x
4 6.2.x
How do i get 6.0 and 6.1 ? There not on hp.com

First thing first
Upgrading to Fabric OS v6.0.0 is only allowed from Fabric OS v5.3.x.

The ideal way to obtain FOS is by contacting your HP Service rep.

Incase this is not possible, you will find your software here

Hello Marcus,

upgrading from 5.1 requires the following upgrade path: 5.2.x - 5.3.x - 6.1.x - 6.2.x.
If I'm not mistaken the latest firmware should be 6.2.2c.

Check the release notes before performing the upgrades.

Obtaining the necessary firmwares can be done on several ways:
- recommended: open a support call;
- if you have enough time you can browse the ftp, normally they should be still there.

Keep in mind if you're running these old firmwares, it's recommended to perform an update of the servers as storage boxes also.

Can anyone please tell me what is the minimun Firmware version requirements for HP SAN Switches 4/8 from HP support point of view. We are currentlu on v6.1 and am wondering if HP will support our SAN switches if something went wrong.
